PHD Virtual Backup for VMware, formerly esXpress 4.0
 NEW PATCH RELEASE PHD Virtual Backup for VMware 4.0-4
We highly recommend installing this new patch release to ensure support for the latest VMware release: vSphere 4.1. Configuration has been simplified and overall improvements have been made from a usability and functional standpoint.
Key areas of improvements for ease of use:
- Login panel now uses the VI Client registry to display available servers.
- When deploying a DeDupe appliance with an attached VMDK for backup storage, a warning is now displayed if creating the disk will cause the volume to drop below 15% free space.
- VBA location will now display file size limits based on the block size of the selected storage location.
- The daily backup report now contains a simplified HTML view with links to the full report.

Instructions on How to Update:
To apply PHD Virtual updates for the Management Appliance and the host RPMs, you will need to check for updates using the "Check for esXpress Updates" option on the Management Appliance Text Menu. The updates will be downloaded from a PHD Virtual server via HTTP so the appliance must be able to access the Internet. Learn more
