Product Support Engineer
The Product Support Engineer candidate will be part of a rapidly growing software company's support desk, working primarily supporting the PHD Virtual Backup products. Responsibilities include answering customer support queries (phone/web/email), diagnosing customer problems, PHD Virtual Backup and hypervisor log file analysis, and remote setup and configuration of product software. Participation in rotation-based standby support is required, including evening and weekend shifts. The candidate will report to the Director of Product Support.

Candidate Requirements
- Experience with Linux a must, working knowledge of Windows
- Experience with Hypervisors (VMware ESX/ESXi or Citrix XEN Server)
- Experience with SAN/NAS storage solutions a plus
- Experience with Networking a plus
- Experience with various types of computer hardware a plus
- Experience with tape and backup solutions a plus.
- Understanding of programming languages and ability to write scripts (e.g. Perl, Shell Scripts) a plus.
- Strong organization and analytical skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with shifting priorities and time frames
- Good Communication and Phone Skills
- Has a Customer oriented approach / desire to deliver quality service
- Able to articulately express and comprehend concepts, directives etc., written and spoken in English li>Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
Candidate Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical assistance to customers
- Coordinate with R&D to solve technical issues
- Coordinate with QA to solve technical issues
- Pre and Post Sales support for product upgrades and installations
- Night and Weekend Rotations
